Fiberglass tubs are both durable and beautiful additions to any bathroom. If you get them with textured bottoms, they are safer to use too. However, these textured bottoms can be a hiding place for excess soap or dirt, which can be difficult to remove.

For instance, a walk-in tub like the Bathing Solutions Model 3252 features a gel coat fiberglass shell that can be difficult to clean because of the anti-slip flooring it has.

As a homeowner, here is what you can do to ensure that your tubs users will be safe from falls, slips, and bacteria build up from a poorly maintained tub.

1. Use An Electric Scrubber

Scrubbing tubs can be quite a chore and when the tub’s bottom is uneven, there is an added challenge to face. What can save you from countless hours of work is an electric scrubber.

With this tool, you can clean without getting your hands dirty. They come with different brush heads so you can pick the best one for your tub’s textured bottom. They are also available in different bristle types, rotation speeds, and power levels, so you can really be sure that they will efficiently clean the bathtub.

2. Use A Liquid Tub Cleanser

If you are aiming to handle an average amount of  dirt, you can use a liquid tub cleanser. Most of the time, they come with an amazing fragrance that will make your bathroom feel even cleaner.

WIth this, all you have to do is wet your tub, pour in the cleanser, and spread it out. Wait for about ten minutes for it to soak in. You will be able to rinse out all the dirt within a few light scrubs.

3. Use Baking Soda, Vinegar, And Dish Soap

Wanting a clean tub doesn’t mean you need to buy a cleanser—you can simply use ingredients you can find in your home. All you need to do is wet your tub, apply dish soap on the tub floor, and sprinkle some baking soda.

The baking soda will aid in scrubbing and the dish soap will handle all the grease. Just leave the solution to sit in within a few minutes and rinse it all down with hot water.

A walk-in tub made with fiberglass is an investment. As much as you can, try to extend its durability by using it well and cleaning it regularly. By scheduling a regular cleaning routine, you and your loved ones can enjoy their baths peacefully and safely.
