When it comes to walk-in bath tubs, stain-removal is dependent on two factors: the type of mineral that caused the stain and the tub's material. Porcelain is the most common bathtub surface because it is the easiest to clean, while materials like enamel will give you a much harder time. Abrasive tools usually do the trick, except on acrylic tubs which are more porous.

Yellow stains are normally caused by mineral deposits from the accumulation of human oils. Fiberglass tubs need a bit more effort. Yellow-stained tubs may seem like a disaster but with the following easy tips and tricks, these stains will disappear from your fiberglass tub and will leave it good as new.

All-Purpose Cleaner

Pour an adequate amount of all-purpose cleaner directly on the bathtub stain on your fiberglass tub, enough to cover the stain completely. Scrub the stain with the abrasive side of a sponge after adding a little water. Rinse the affected area and if you still see a stain, use a pumice stone to remove the remaining stain.

Shampoo

Sometimes, shampoo does the trick. Pour a generous amount of the shampoo you use for your hair directly onto the yellow-stained area. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. The stain should fade because it is most likely caused by a buildup of human oils, which shampoo can remove.

Vinegar

If you have a smooth tub in your home that has a stain or two, try applying a solution of water and vinegar to the affected area. Allow it to soak for at least 45 minutes. After soaking, use a sponge to scrub it and then rinse with warm water. Remember that abrasive tools should not be used on smoother surfaces because they can damage the material.
These tricks will surely get the yellow stains off your tub. Cleanliness doesn’t have to be difficult, all you need is to be smart and well-informed about the easy ways to clean.
