Bought this table to use as a monitor mount. Regardless of what the specs say, this table is supporting a 34" monitor on a VESA arm, combined weight over 25 lbs. A level on the table surface shows it perfectly level even with this much weight.
All construction is solid and dependable, wheels roll well and lock tight. Table is well balanced and requires considerable uneven weight to unbalance. Floor clearance is easily low enough for most beds, height range is impressive, table is easily adjusted. Table does not tilt, which in my opinion is a good thing, I wanted stability above all.
Considering I'm using this table in a more demanding manner than the average user or what the manufacturer even recommends, safe to say if it's holding up for me, it will satisfy you as well.
Unless, apparently, you really need the C-shaped base. So uh, don't buy this hoping for that. This table works great with a bed or carted around, but it's not a desk you can pull up and sit at.
Cont-Tact self adhesive cork. Removed only 1/2 the protective paper from one side of my cut piece and wiggled it under the gap and then stuck that section down. Removed the other half of the procteted paper and stuck down the other half. The lever now strikes the cork instead of the bottom of the table top (much quieter).
Still some rattle, but at a different place. It's was the wiggle room at the screw that holds the lever in place. So I removed the screw/bolt and cut two small squares. Used a hole punch to punch a hole in the center of each square for the screw to fit back through. Put the small square cork on the inside of the housing and put back the screw/bolt. No noise. I added a small basket to the column for incidentals. I'm thinking I'll add a narrow strip of about 3 to 4 inches of the cork to the top on both sides? To catch the sweating coming off a cold glass, heat from hot coffee, prevent silverware slipping? It a sturdy table. Raises and lowers easily. Wheels lock. It has a lip around the top to prevent things from rolling off easily. Bottom of the wheels to the top of the U base is 4 inches. It rolls easily. I am very pleased with the product.

Table top is 28.25 x 15.3 x 0.8 inches, on a 1.15 inch thick steel support, so total thickness of the top is nearly 2 inches. Table top adjusts smoothly anywhere between 29.13 to 42.3 inches above floor (with casters installed, 2.25 inches less if you skip the casters).
Base is 23.4 x 15.5 inches; casters extend another 1 inch in any direction, depending where they are pointing. Bars of the base are 1.4" wide and high, so gap between the bars (e.g. to fit around chair legs) is 20.6 inches. Top of base is 3.65 inches above floor after you install the casters. To slide it under a lower couch, you could skip the casters and have 1.4 inches clearance. Without casters it would still slide OK over carpet, or you could stick on felt to slide it over wood or tile floors; no locking if you do that.
Seems solid, though table top is composition board (like Masonite), so its screws can eventually pull out. Fine for meals, laptop, games, books, thin TV, makeup, etc. They say 50 pounds if weight is spread out.
Easy to assemble; only suggestion is to explain that "Allen" wrenches mean Hexagonal wrenches; not all sickbed customers know such jargon for tools.
It would be far better if the length of the bar in the base were adjustable to fit around easy chairs. Our lift chair (junior petite) has a base 26.5 inches across; others are even wider. Other comments show that many people are looking for a wide base. We're keeping it, but we may have a machine shop make a wider base.

Once assembled the table height is easily adjustable. IF you want some fashionable & sheik over table to grace your bedside then don’t get this. Yes, it looks just like a hospital type overbed table BUT if you are confined to bed from a permanent spinal injury you care more about functionality than how your visitors and nurses view the table. Some ppl are beyond vain, really ! LOL. I recommend this overbed table. Stay safe.
The components, including the frame attached to the table top (excluding the tabletop itself) are metal. The only plastic parts are the wheels (which manoeuvre with ease) and a plastic bumper strip around the tabletop edge that provides a lip slightly higher than the tabletop. I personally love this feature since I use this table for multi-purposes including crafts and drawing/colouring. The lip prevents objects from rolling off, however it is not a tight fit against the table edge which means tiny objects such as beads and needles can be caught in the gap. The gap also makes the table a bit more difficult to clean and sanitize.
The tabletop itself has an aesthetically pleasant and durable laminate in a dark grained walnut colour on both sides. I have reduced my rating from 5 stars to 4 due to a significant scrape on the underside of the tabletop making the table a second (defects should be disclosed in listings). I didn't return it since the defect wasn't clearly visible and the reality these days is a replacement may not be any better and may in fact be worse than an original product. The only other defect or oddity about the table is the vertical rectangular metal tube housing the spring is wider than the frame of the base so it overlaps in two spots where it extends over the base support bar (the bar between the two sets of wheels). This isn't an issue for me but it may be for someone else. The frame itself is steel with a steel grey powder coated finish, not polished chrome as shown on the main listing image. This table doesn't match, but blends well with my black brown furniture and I suspect, given the neutral coloured frame, it would likely work fine with the newer driftwood colours being produced of late.
Another assembly issue is the lever is enamelled metal which is great for durability, however the leaver is annoyingly loose in it's frame and rattles loudly making the table sound cheaply made, which it is not. I dismantled the lever assembly and attached a square of one sided adhesive rubber tape to the top of the lever. I also created a pair of rigid felt washers sufficiently thick to fill the gaps and installed them on either side of the lever on the bolt inside the lever bracket then tightened the self locking bolt nut as much as possible against the lever frame. Voila! The table now rises and compresses like a charm without any noise.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. The table is great quality and excellent value for the money I paid for it (approx $120 CA, tax in with free shipping).
