As you age, you may find it extremely difficult to find answers to issues regarding your health, profits, or social possibilities. Luckily, some organizations support senior individuals in practically every town, county, and state. These organizations are created to provide support and services that keep elderly generations healthy, active, and happy.

Unsure where to begin your search for these organizations that may be able to assist you or an elderly loved one? To get you started, here is a list of them; you may be amazed at the number of groups willing to assist you throughout your or your elderly loved one's retirement.

  • Area Agency on Aging
  • AARP
  • Alzheimer’s Association
  • National Institute on Aging
  • Senior Services Agencies

Area Agency on Aging

Area Agency on Aging is available in all 50 states and may have locations in numerous counties. The agency has a wealth of resources, and if the staff cannot assist you or answer your query, they will know exactly where to direct you to obtain the information you seek.

AARP

By far the most well-known group advocating for seniors, AARP's website and publications cover various topics relevant to older adults. Additionally, the organization campaigns for seniors and provides resources on issues such as nursing, financial planning, and health.

Alzheimer’s Association

While not all seniors have Alzheimer's disease, an estimated 5.8 million do. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, the Alzheimer's Association is an amazing resource for research updates, education, and support groups.

National Institute on Aging

The National Institute on Aging has an informative website on senior health matters such as doctor-patient interaction and healthy eating. These are straightforward subjects, and all resources are also accessible in Spanish. Additionally, the institute's busy Facebook page is an excellent resource for discovering new content throughout the week.

Senior Services Agencies

Along with your Area Agency on Aging, your town, village, or city may have a department committed to helping and informing the elderly in your community. Visit your town's website to locate a senior service tab that will direct you to the department's address, phone number, and also a list of services it offers. Numerous communities have elder services departments that rent dependable medical equipment to residents, aid with insurance issues, answer Medicare queries, and connect residents with home security services.

The efforts of these organizations can assist you in amplifying your voice and securing additional rights and benefits for you and your elder loved ones. If you'd like to learn more about how to enhance a senior's quality of life, visit Senior Strong's health and wellness page.
