If you shop at a Kroger’s and are a senior citizen, be sure to give your local branch a call to check if and when discounts apply. Senior Discount Day used to be a common practice across all Kroger stores, but it has since been discontinued. Branches that still offer it give seniors aged 55+ five-percent off every Tuesday if they present their Kroger Plus Card.
Should the discount still apply to your local branch, it can be used in tandem with other coupons you might have. Many grocery stores uphold similar practices as well. However, it cannot be used for cigarettes, pharmacy items, alcohol, money orders, or stamps.
When you sign up for the Kroger Plus Card, which is free, you can obtain special prices and discounts in-store. You will also automatically be enrolled in their Kroger’s Fuel Program. For every dollar spent, you can get one fuel point. Fuel points can also be increased with some prescriptions and gift cards, allowing you to save on gas at a Kroger Fuel Center.
You can also take part in Kroger’s Free Friday coupons, which can be redeemed every first Friday of the month. This grants you one free item, and you need to have an online account to qualify for it. Doing so also gives you access to cashback deals that may be loaded into your Kroger Plus Account.
