Ross understands seniors want to look fashionable and enjoy high-quality branded clothes, so they offer discounts to help seniors “dress for less.” Aside from getting affordable clothes at Ross, seniors are given an additional discount on their purchases. With this, our elderly loved ones can enjoy fashionable clothes, quality home decor, and more.

To learn more about Ross senior discount, here’s an overview of its eligibility requirements, discount policy, and more.

Eligibility Requirements For Ross Senior Discount

Eligibility Requirements For Ross Senior Discount

Ross gives seniors 10% off their in-store purchases every Tuesday. The offer, dubbed 55+ Tuesday Discount, applies to seniors aged 55 and over

To get the discount, seniors need to approach a store associate before purchasing and show an ID with proof of their age. In some stores, they can sign up for a free membership card that they can show with every purchase.

Ross Discount Policy

The senior discount is nontransferable; you must be at the store to claim it. Specific clothing and home decor brands are also excluded. There’s no published list available, so you must ask the salesperson if the product you’re buying is eligible for the discount.

Take note that senior discounts are valid for in-store purchases only. Ross doesn’t have an online store because of the constantly changing nature of its collection. Further, applying for the discount can only be made in person.

If you purchased the wrong item, you can return it and have it refunded. Ross allows for full refunds within 30 days of purchase. Refunds beyond that time limit will be issued through store credits. For the full refund policy, you can check their FAQs page

How To Get Additional Savings At Ross

Ross is a bargain store that gets unsold items from large malls and sells them at their outlets. Shopping at Ross already gives you substantial savings than buying directly from brand stores or mall department stores.

Aside from getting the senior discount every Tuesday, here are other tips to help you get extra savings at Ross:

  1. Check out Ross’ Facebook page for contests and giveaways. Joining them will give you a chance to win prizes that can help increase your savings. The page also announces any new promotions or store hours.
  2. Check the clearance and bargain areas of the store. Ross marks down their items from 20-60% off. You can get the best bargains at clearance sections instead of the regular areas.
  3. If you don’t find something you like, come back next week. The items at Ross change frequently, so don’t force yourself to buy something you don’t like. (Take note that the reverse is also true. If you like something, get it now because you’re unsure if the product will be available tomorrow.)
  4. Visit other Ross stores or their partner brand, dd’s DISCOUNTS. Because Ross sells clearance items, no two stores are alike. Another store may have a better deal for the things you like than the current one. Checking two or three stores wouldn’t hurt. You’d also find different collections per different Ross locations.
  5. If you feel creative, you can ask for ripped or stained items. Ross sells them for ridiculously low prices because they want to dispose of these defective products. Of course, you’d have to repair them or find a way to remove or cover the stain. But this challenge can be good if you’re looking for other creative activities for seniors to fill your time.

Seniors' Frugal Lifestyle

Adopting a frugal lifestyle offers several benefits beyond shopping at Ross:

  • Retirement Savings: By utilizing discounts and making wise spending choices, seniors can stretch their retirement savings and maintain financial stability.
  • Community Engagement: Joining senior membership groups, like AARP, fosters a sense of community and offers access to additional perks and resources.
  • Home Repairs and Upgrades: Explore housing grants and programs designed to assist seniors with home repairs and improvements, enhancing comfort and safety.
  • Health and Wellness: Embrace healthy habits and preventive care to minimize healthcare costs and lead an active, fulfilling lifestyle during retirement.
  • Exploring Hobbies: Engage in creative activities and hobbies to enrich your daily life, foster personal growth, and make the most of your leisure time.

Remember, the combination of the Ross senior discount and strategic shopping techniques can contribute to a fulfilling and economically savvy lifestyle in your retirement years.
